John Vander
John Vander is an American painter who for over 25 years now has been spending the winter months in the suggestive Tuscan countryside, near the city of Lucca, and the remaining six months of the year in the state of Maine, in the lively city of Boothbay.
There, he is co-owner of the
Gold/Smith Gallery, historic art gallery and point of reference for art enthusiasts and collectors.
His apparently instinctive paintings are the result of intimate impressions and intuitions that find their expression through a linear and marked stroke and an original and skillful use of color – a clear particularity of his talent.
"I am constantly amazed at the beauty that surrounds me. It can be a daunting task to capture that quality. I hope I have succeeded."-
