Nicola Fanini
Nicola Fanini was born in Lucca in 1977. He took his first pictures with a Pentax MX during an extended stay in Canada when he was twenty years old. Once back in Italy, he studied cinema and electronic images, eventually graduating from the University of Pisa.
His photography seems to be moved by the idea of controlling the imponderable, crystallizing it in a predetermined thought, and focuses particularly on “street photography”.
This genre he conceives as a means of expression, realistic but at the same time symbolic, as a means of communication, a way to reveal uncomfortable truths and also to preserve memories.
“I conceive photography as the meeting of inner and outer space, of objective and subjective reality.”
