Motionless Gazes - Italian Romanticism
The 13 panels collected in "Motionless Gazes" represent a selection of a total of 25 that are part of a photographic survey conducted for the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan (GAM Milan), where famous works of the Italian Romanticism as well as private collections of the twentieth century are exhibited. It consists in a project of artistic interpretation of the masterpieces that are found in the halls and depository of the museum. Each photograph represents a painting or statue dating to the Italian twentieth century re-interpreted in two phases: the first through the camera lens, the second through the specific printing technique utilized.
These two steps make each photograph a single work that opens up to new perspectives.
