Theme of the work: "Bulls"
It's a great passion for Cretan mythology that led Luca Serasini to paint mainly bulls. From the early artworks, with a few bulls appearing prudently on his canvas, to whole herds. These are his words, "After a trip to Crete I started to draw small herds of bulls. During the years the herds became larger and nearly always red. This strong colour, now the main feature of my works, intensifies the already strong symbolic meaning of the animal. Herds always heading westwards, indifferent to observers. They do not look threatening, they are just a vital and masculine driving force, pure energy in motion."
